I’ve always wanted to go to Naples and if I had a dollar for every time somebody had said....’watch your pockets, leave your valuables behind’....
It’s hard to know if it’s urban myth now. Other European cities can be pretty awful for theft. The only one I’ve ever been thieved in was London while on the tube.

I love Naples too. Plan A this year is to visit the gardens at Caserta. It rained last time, so I went to the underground excavations instead. Amazing.

We spent a week in Naples in January. It is an extraordinary city. It still feels like Italy, unlike what has happened to Florence over the past couple of decades.
